Good evening, Lovies!
Ever wonder how it is that some people go about planning their days at the Disney parks? Well, here's a quick view into my planning world for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) 2012.
The map I'm using currently is the map from last year's party, but it's the most current map for MNSSHP, so it does the trick. If any of you follow Disney World news, I'm sure you've already heard of the New Fantasyland opening up in early December of this year. Some (a couple) of those attractions are open already (Barnstormer and Casey Jr.'s Splash 'n Soak Station). Those attractions (obviously) aren't on the old map, which is why if you look at my odd jellyfish map drawing you'll see us venturing off into the wooded area. The dot in the woods is the approximate location of the Barnstormer.
Also, notice what I did with the map? This works with either Disney or home printed maps, and it makes it super easy to visually see where you're going. All you need is a clear sheet protector and a dry erase marker and voilĂ ! You have a simple way to draw on your map without needing a new one every time you mess up!
The other pictures are samples of a older versions of our plans and the times we plan on being at each place. I started by writing down the things we want to do and see during the event. Then I proceeded to mark the attractions that are a must for my family (as indicated by the stars).
From there I started organizing our night by time. Currently, there are three versions, each more elaborate than the one before it. Did I mention that this blog is for (but not only for) "extreme" planners? ;)
Anyways, just a quick note, I am planning on getting the 2012 map for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party up by September 11th. Until then, though, I have lots of fun stuff planned to deliver to you, the first of which should be posted on Sunday. :)

A Whole New Blog
Welcome to From Alice to Zazu, a site for everything you need for a perfect Disney vacation, A to Z. I'm Nikki, a native Floridian with a love for planning and Disney. I came up with the idea for this blog while planning my family's first trip to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this upcoming fall. I kept coming up with questions I couldn't find the answers to which led to the decision to make an ultimate planning blog where people could come for all their Disney planning needs, be they simple or "extreme."
Now, this site is still new and there is a lot of information to organize, so please bear with me as I get From Alice to Zazu up and running. Some of the things I'm currently working on bringing to you are up-to-date park and special event maps, planning templates, packing list essentials, tips, and perhaps the most important reason I created this blog, attraction travel times (not to be confused with park to park travel times, which I will also be providing).
I hope to have the attraction travel times for the Magic Kingdom up and running by this Sunday. Until then, I have lots to do.
